Lets Talk Loyalty

I love a loyalty card and these little gems of plastic are a fantastic way to earn freebies, coupons, discounts and of course points.

My purse is bursting at the seams from loyalty cards and I wouldn't be without a single one of them.

So lets talk loyalty.

The first loyalty card I picked up was a Boots Advantage card when I was about sixteen and so my love for loyalty began.

I'll talk about the cards I have and the perks of them living in your purse.

Health & Beauty

Boots Advantage Card

The advantage card rewards you four points for every pound you spend in store and online. One point equates to a penny which I know doesn't sound like very much but all those pennies soon add up.

If you have an Advantage Card, Boots regularly send coupons through the post for extra points, money off and sometimes a coupon for a free product.

I don't typically spend a vast amount in Boots but believe me the points certainly add up over the year which I save for Christmas.

On the Boots Advantage Card app I had a couple of offers. One for 75 points on any dental product and 50 points on any female deodorant. The toothbrush was 75p with 75p back in points making it free. The deodorant was 75p with 50p back in points. Also the usual points which worked out at 8 so another 8p back. Total cost was £1.50 with £1.33 back in points.

Superdrug Beauty Card

The Beauty Card earns you points on your shopping and 100 points gives you £1 to spend, members also get reductions on selected products and a different treat by email every Thursday. This could be anything from a discount to a free product.

The Body Shop Love Your Body Club

The Love Your Body Club is one of my favourites in terms of generosity. A whopping ten points for every one pound you spend.

When you reach 500 points you get a £5 voucher to spend either in store or online.

On your birthday they treat you to a £5 voucher which you can spend on anything.

I signed up in April this year when there was an offer on the O2 Priority app which gave me £5 for joining. I then got £5 on my birthday and I currently have £5 on my account from purchasing my daughters birthday presents.

The only downside I find is the vouchers have an expiry date, usually about three months from you receiving them but other than that I love it.

You can sign up in-store or online here https://www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/lybc-marketing

Debenhams Beauty Club Reward Card

The Beauty Club Reward Card gives you three points per £1 spent on beauty, fragrance, beauty services and beauty electrical items. You can then spend your points in store or online on beauty items.

Free treats on your birthday such as a brow wax by Benefit and free delivery are part of the perks.

A new feature which I am every excited about is free deluxe samples every month to pick up in store.

Stationery & Books

Paperchase Treat Me

I don't shop in Paperchase as it is a little pricey for my liking but if you have a Treat Me card you get a £5 voucher on your birthday which was the reason I joined. I won't say no to a free £5.

There are benefits such as delivery upgrades and a £5 reward when you spend £50.

Sign up is in store only but you can find out more here https://www.paperchase.co.uk/treat-me-info

Waterstones Rewards

With the Waterstones Rewards card you earn three points per £1, special bonus points on selected books and exclusive offers.

Waterstones also offer a stamp card, so for every £10 you spend in store you get a stamp, once your card is full, ten stamps in total, you get a £10 Waterstones voucher.

The Works Together Rewards Card

The Together Rewards Card gives you five points for every pound you spend which are then converted into Rewards Vouchers every three months. These can be spent either in store or online.

Highstreet & Department Stores

Marks & Spencer Sparks

The Sparks card gives you ten Sparks for every pound spent, 25 Sparks for every review you write and 50 Sparks for every time you shwop.

They also send special offers such as money off food and clothing with the chance for free items.

There was an offer for £5 off bedding with no minimum spend so with this I was able to get a pair of pillowcases for free.

Monsoon & Accessorize Reward Card

The Monsoon & Accessorize Reward Card gives you one point per £1 and when you reach 200 points you get a £10 voucher plus exclusive offers, previews and events.

T.K.Maxx & Homesense Treasure Card

The Treasure Card is a new loyalty card which I have just joined myself.

Treasure offers rewards, surprises and the chance to win prizes each month.

You need to pick up a card in-store and register here https://www.bigbrandtreasure.com

House of Fraser Recognition

The Recognition card rewards you one point for every pound spent and extra points on your birthday month.

Once you reach 500 points you get a £5 voucher, however points do expire which can be frustrating.

My John Lewis

The My John Lewis card rewards you with offers and treats through the year, my favourite been a free hot drink and slice of cake, a voucher is usually sent every three/four months for this offer.

Ikea Family Card

The Ikea Family Card rewards you with offers, surprises and freebies. You can get a free hot drink in the cafe every Monday-Friday with your Family Card.

As part of their birthday celebrations I received a voucher for a free hot drink and slice of cake and because we visited on a weekday we got another free hot drink. Another voucher as part of the birthday celebration was £5 to spend in store so I picked up three items which came to exactly £5 making them free.

You can join the Ikea Family here http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/ikea-family/

Supermarkets

Nectar

When you think of the Nectar card you automatically think of Sainsbury's. However you can collect Nectar points with over 500 brands, including Argos, Debenhams and eBay to name just a few.

If you download the Nectar app there are extra points and offers which you can load onto your card for the next time you shop and watch those points mount up.

Twice a year Sainsbury's run a Double Up promotion which gives you double your Nectar points which can be spent on clothing, toys and household items, amongst other departments. A full list can be found here what-you-can-buy-with-your-double-up-vouchers?

There is usually a Double Up event held in November which of course I would recommend you take full advantage of for any Christmas gifts.

You can join Nectar here https://www.nectar.com/

Tesco Clubcard

I don't shop at Tesco very often so this one sits in my purse, patiently waiting for its day to shine.

With the Clubcard you earn one point for every pound spent apart from on fuel which is one point for every two pounds.

Every three months you will receive coupons depending on the amount of Clubcard points you have collected or you can opt in to the Christmas saver and get your coupons through in time for that all important Christmas shop.

Throughout the year Tesco will send out coupons in the post which are typically for extra Clubcard points and money off products.

Morrisons More Card

The Morrisons More Card is a fairly new loyalty card which I am yet to use.

This one offers five points for every pound you spend which is the most generous one out of the supermarkets.

Again like the others, you receive extra points coupons in the post. However this one gives you a £5 coupon when you reach 5,000 points, which if you do your main shop in Morrisons, I would imagine is quite easy to achieve on a regular basis.

Like Tesco there is a Christmas savers club so you can save your coupons ready for the festivities.

Iceland Foods Bonus Card

The Bonus Card is a little different from others as you don't earn points on it, you top it up, similar to saving stamps. For every £20 you save Iceland add a £1. This is a great option if you save throughout the year for birthdays or Christmas.

Even though there aren't any points to collect, Iceland state every time you swipe the card you automatically qualify for benefits. One of which I believe is a free gateau worth a £1 on your birthday.

Find out more and sign up here http://www.iceland.co.uk/bonus-card/

My Waitrose

The My Waitrose card is the same as the Iceland card, no points to collect. Instead you have the chance to get things for free, money off and prizes.

If your a member you can pick up a free copy of Waitrose magazine worth £2.

When you make a purchase you are entitled to a free hot drink.

Co-Op

The Co-Op card has had a revamp and for the better. You now earn 5% back on any Co-Op own brand product and 1% back for your community such as local causes in schools and nurseries which I think is a brilliant idea.

The 5% back adds up extremely quickly and I have used my rewards a few times throughout the year which has either given me my shopping for free or taken some of the cost of the total which I can tell you has been a Godsend this year.

Next year I plan on saving my rewards for, you guessed it, Christmas.

Occasionally you are given coupons at the till for money off products.

You can become a member here http://www.co-operativefood.co.uk/membership/

On your birthday you will get an email for a free cookie.

You can then spend your points on food and drink.
